My sister, Jo, is my ultimate best travel pal. Well, apparently, she is the best friend that I ever had. As I look back on the last photos that my sister and I had before she got married to her husband in Tuscany, I started this feeling of terrible sadness. I miss her so much that I came into this really huge realization. I know for sure no one will be able to top the fun experiences we shared in our countless trips and drives to different cities.
The photos that I love most, in this really aging box I kept on the bedside table, are the ones we have had on the very first drive to San Diego. I remember this was the one where she has gotten the highest grades in her final examinations.
After a mind- popping and satisfying breakfast of the most amazing omelette I ever laid my taste buds into, we took off and there, in a sudden twist of fate, we were in Fashion Valley finding the best finds in fashion. This was an amazing place to shop since it housed the most girl- friendly brands that are just music to our ears. It was truly one of San Diego’s hippest places to shop and give in to the seducing smell of newly opened boxes of leathers or cloth on clothes that do not just become fashion statement, but an edgy look at someone’s style. I remember this comprised of 200 stores to choose from. Isn’t that amazing? We were so overwhelmed to see the biggest names come together in this one-stop shop location. Hey, at that time, we weren’t complaining.
With bags after bags of clothes, and big, bright smiles on our faces, we headed to another destination. Just within the area, we found the Happy Nails and Spa. Of course, after a long day of walking and looking for the perfectly- fit clothes, we made sure to get the pampering we needed. It was just a minute or two walk in the Friars Road.
Mimi’s Café, the perfect end to our day was just 4 minutes away from where we were. We had the best servings of dinner from this award- winning restaurant. It was just located at 5180 Mission Center Road. We were with good company and the food was just amazing. Truly, there’s no denying that we are going to have a lot more time with each other in the future, I know for sure.
