My Perfect Weekend... |
|
| My husband, Keifer and I decided to visit San Diego for a weekend. It was an opportunity for us to spend time together because we've been very busy with our jobs and raising kids. On our first day, we visited the Seaport Village, a charming waterfront establishment which is designed like a harbor side setting from 1900s. The 14-acre complex is home to many dining, shopping and entertainment options. We had fun shopping at Seaport Village's 54 shops and got some rare finds. We had lunch at the Harbor House's Oyster Bar and Pub. I had Mediterranean Penne Pasta. Keifer ordered the Oyster Seafood Stew. After enjoying Seaport Village's winding cobblestone pathways, lakes and beautiful landscaping, we then visited the Embarcadero Marina Park. We really enjoyed the park's lush greenery and fantastic views of the sea. The park is also home to Viejas Casino. We didn't feel like gambling so we just checked out the public art located around the park and shopped some more. For dinner, we went to The Grove Steakhouse. I had the Stuffed Shrimp, while Keifer had the Top Sirloin. The next day, we visited the Gaslamp Quarter and did a walking tour of the city's architecture. San Diego is home to many interesting houses and buildings. The city also has over 100 restaurants, bars, nightclubs and lounges, and countless boutiques, art galleries and shops. We enjoyed checking out the art work in the galleries and visiting the shops and boutiques. We also toured the PetCo Park which is the home of the Padres. Keifer is an avid baseball fan so he was thrilled. He got us good seats. The game starts at 7pm so we had plenty of time to eat and shop for souvenirs. We dined at The Palm Restaurant. They offer a wide variety of dishes. We then went back to the PetCo Park to watch the game. The Padres were host to the Atlanta Braves. It was a long, but exciting game and most important to Keifer, the Padres won. |
